After the youngsters tried their hand at the fours head on Saturday, it was the turn of the more mature oars people to have a go.
CBRC only had one interest in this race - and again a last minute substitution was required (many sources say he was still sweating cider from the night before!)

Well done to the old g*ts who manages to get over the course in fine fashion (despite being a scratch crew, and half the crew already having done the main event, rowing and drinking, the day before) finishing 11th overall, and were only 2 seconds off being the fastest CBRC crew of the weekend!!
If that is not a good reason for the senior squad to get on with the training I don't know what is!
Come on then - who was in the vet crew? Can't get good reporters these days.
ReplyDeleteTo save your eyes for having to look at the picture!?!
ReplyDeleteBaggy
Jimmy
Jack
Graham
Hmmm... mirror flat... no crews ahead of them... tail wind no doubt...
ReplyDeleteVERY similar conditions to the day before - not quite as rough, but more of a head wind once through Hammersmith!
ReplyDeleteThat is what you get when you start off second...
Dear "youngster", is this the smell of sour grapes?
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get 2 seconds from the fastest time from...???
ReplyDeleteVet 4x 21 mins 44 secs
S2 4- 20 mins 10 secs
Is this some sort of veteran spin
It'll be their eyesight going...
ReplyDeleteI think you will find - if you look more closely, the 21 min 44 seconds was the vetC 4x from 2005!!
ReplyDeleteThis year the vetB 4x finished in 20 min 12 seconds...
I think it is you that needs the eye check!!!
Next time a little respect to your elders!!
the results are now here...

And the crew wasn't even tipped in the Gurt Lush stakes.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to place a bet then put your money on a vet
No sour grapes here.
ReplyDeleteAfter all... 2 seconds is still 2 seconds.
It's very similar to 2nd place (punter) :)
Well done gents, 2/4 in your category too.
ReplyDelete3rd and 4th in MVB4x were DNS though...
ReplyDeletewhat is wrong with a few old men being happy and content that they can still keep up with the youngsters!?!
