Bristol & Avon Regatta - 28th August

Message from Stu, your regatta chairman:

"It is the Bristol regatta on the 28th of this month. As usual it will not go ahead without the help of the club. I am sure that most of you have helped out before and may have a preference to what you would like to do on the day so hear is a list of jobs.

Set up team:- Start at 07:00 put up tents and prepare club

Car park monitors:- Tell competitors were to go

Landing and launching boat monitors:- help boats on and off the water

Start helpers:- hold boats on the start line

BBQ:- What do you think you have to do? (Oooo! - ed)

Cake tent:- Fatten up the opposition

Clearing up team:- Starts at 18:00 till site is clear

This year there will be no help from the WI at the cake stand so it will be up to us to do all the baking as well as the sandwiches. The sandwiches will have to be done on the Saturday before the regatta I will get all the ingredients. If you are unable to help out the club on the day of the regatta then baking a cake is a good way to help out.

For the jobs it will be first to reply will have the job until they are all taken if you are late replying then I will just find you a job myself. It goes without saying that if you are rowing at the regatta that you will be a helper at some time in the day but if there are some people who can help on the day that are not rowing please tell me.

This event is a money spinner for the club as well as a chance to show the club off in a good light. It will not go ahead with out your help."

Roger, over and out.
