Now I know he is going slightly grey, and that his 2k times aren't what they once were, but I was pretty sure Scotty's eyesight was OK.
Not so, it would seem, as he launched his scull into a 12' wide floating railway sleeper which was supporting 2 large yellow signs signifying a closed river!
All credit to the old man - he managed to keep it upright!
