Early morning outings often bring out the best in a crew due to the nice calm water and bright sunshine but the 4+ that ventured out on Tuesday must have been performing particularly well as their cox was heard to exclaim wow, wow. WOW! as they came onto Welshback. Strangely she then called for ‘easy oar’ and told the crew to look up.
Unfortunately she was not reacting to the crew’s expertise but had seen 20 hot air balloons ascending from Queens Sqaure.
Apparently the balloonists were saying, wow, wow, WOW! as they looked down at the rowing boat below them.
